Part II: Monochrome vs Colour

Welcome to my 2nd blog post. Why all the black and white pics you ask? Well because they are also esthetically pleasing to the colour blind, and they're cool. I recently read about taking action shots in places without sufficient lighting. Increasing your ISO setting and using a quick shutterspeed, makes for some interesting images. I don't think I quite nailed it, but I'm happy with some of the fun that was captured in an interesting way on the night of a friend's 30th birthday. Yes we went to a barn dance, and yes it was VERY fun.

Here are my good friends Cal and Jon making their way through the hoedown pyramid of fun. Just look at the joy on
their faces. I think this is my favourite image of the whole night. Maybe just because I love them so.

Clap!

Clap! (Jono and Charlene)

More achy breaky heart racing with Thebo and Gillian.

Grab your partner dosey do, hold her tight and don't let go.
Thank ye for the dance me lady!

Lovely lady Angie having a good time on the
dance floor.

Lloyd and Ang busting a move to some rock 'n roll oldies.
Yee haw! A group photo!

This was a totally different event. This is a friend of a friend. Unbeknownst
to her, I captured her musings with a friend. Really love this shot.

Wish I knew what they were talking about...

POST BIRTHDAY FUN

Ok, enough monochromatic mania. These pictures were all taken after my son, Daniel's, second birthday. They are mostly of him and Lily. Lily is a super spunky little girl and a willing subject. Love these colourful shots of her!
Ball pit. ALWAYS awesome!

The jumping castle really made for some fun and colourful pics.

Captured from below Lily looks totally sweet on the jungle gym.

These are some very special pics of Daniel with his grandad having some fun on the jumping castle. I love this special
moment between the two of them.
Another favourite of the birthday boy and my dad.
I don't think this photo is particularly great from a technical point of view, but I LOVE it. I captured my big boy getting some serious air on his second birthday. Maybe it was my low vantage point, but it made him seem so big.

Until next time,
Unicorns and rainbows.
