Someday Photographer Part I
Hello. My name is Utami, and I want to be a photographer. One of the many occupations I have fulfilled in my young(ish) life is that of a career guidance counsellor, and I am a firm believer that everyone has a career (or two) which suits them perfectly. Ironically I have never known what I wanted to do with my life - up until about a year ago when I was spoilt with a very nice Nikon DSLR. I have absolutely fallen in love, and yes, I want to be a photographer.
I have some questions though. At what point does one become an official photographer? Is it when you get paid? Or when you get published? I really don't know. So while I'm embarking on this journey to figuring out the answers to these questions, I will share some favourites with you.
 |
It would be appropriate to start with this, my all time favourite, which I took at our home on the plots.
If you're my friend you've probably seen it before, but it's my favourite photo of my favourite subject, with a bunny. |

Here is my favourite subject, Daniel, dirty, again. |

Some more Danny favourites. |

I really love photographing people and seen here is one of my besties
Jaime with her son Elijah during her maternity shoot. |
 |
Here is another one of Jaime. I really love natural photos and
am yet to discover the joys of using photoshop. |
 |
Another shot of the lovely Jaime rocking the belly. |
 |
This is a random pic of good friend Desmond and daughter Lily at a recent kids party.
I love capturing awesome moments.
Some more pics of the same party: |
I also like taking pics of things found on the plot, big and small:
And then there is Instagram! My new favourite app. Here are some of the ones I really like:
 |
This one is of a super giant mushroom on the plot. It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland and the caterpilar. The one side will make you grow taller, and the other side will make you grow shorter... |
 |
I love this one of Daniel's wooden train set. The bright colours are awesome. |
 |
The accusing robot. These are also some of Daniel's toys. |
Here's to following your dreams...
